Hackers using unreleased Radar Spheres how horrible Palworld PvP would be

Pocketpair released a roadmap detailing upcoming content to the game. While we should get excited about many things on the list, players took more notice of the forthcoming PvP and Arena content. Unfortunately, things might not be as good as the community expects, as hackers have shown the extent of what PvP in Palworld would look like.

Datamind Radar Sphere Being Spawned By Hackers

Dataminers have been digging into Palworld’s codes to find clues about upcoming content. While some appreciate the efforts of these people, some have detested them for what they unleashed. Since data miners have leaked details about a sphere that could steal other people’s Pals, hackers have been able to spawn this for nefarious purposes.

Many have already reported on online forums about how some players come to their base and steal their Pals with a black capture item. One Reddit post shows how a random person kept throwing large dark balls at their Broncherry and Mossanda until they were captured. This item is undeniably the unreleased Radar Sphere, which hackers can spawn through unknown means.

These incidents occur on public servers or invade dedicated servers. Solo Play or Private Lobbies with friends seem unaffected unless hackers can get into those. There are no straightforward ways to combat these acts from hackers besides killing them on sight. Another tip was to keep Pals indoors or make sure that strangers don’t have easy access to your companions.

These instances are rare since they are limited to Official and Dedicated Servers. Aside from several threads discussing the possible repercussions of the Radar Sphere, there hasn’t been any uproar about the existence of this item. Most complaints were aimed at hackers being able to use an item that shouldn’t be in the game in the first place.

Radar Spheres Explained

Spheres are the capture items Tamers use to obtain Pals in the wild. Each ball scales in power, which allows gamers to get more powerful creatures. Here are all the available Pal Spheres in the game:

  • Pal Sphere
  • Mega Sphere
  • Giga Sphere
  • Hyper Sphere
  • Ultra Sphere
  • Legendary Sphere

Currently, only these six are officially available in the game. The Radar Sphere is an unreleased item in the game’s code, with the same capture power as a Giga Sphere. Based on this Reddit post, this capture item has some of the lowest rates in the game, which would lessen the chances of your Pal getting stolen. However, hackers can still capture your companions if their RNG favors them.

Mixed Feelings About the Radar Spheres

Gamers have mixed feelings about the possible introduction of Radar Spheres when PvP in Palworld comes out. Some have outright stated their objections since it can be heartbreaking to see a Pal you spent countless hours with be taken away from you. Some are not totally against it but still have some complaints.

Aside from the “losing your Pal” complaint, some have pointed out that introducing Radar Spheres might introduce an annoying PvP meta. Players might mass produce these items and spam them on enemy Pals to disable them from doing anything during fights. Even if they aren’t stolen, the capture process takes several seconds, hindering them and leaving their owners alone on the field. This would make fights revolve around spamming Radar Spheres instead of duking it out fairly and squarely.

Players Shouldn’t Worry Too Much About Radar Spheres

The item’s existence in the game’s code does not necessarily mean that it will officially make it in the game. It could have been an early concept or feature that was scrapped due to its grieving potential. Pocketpair hasn’t confirmed whether Radar Spheres will be added, so gamers must wait for further announcements.

The developer mentioned that they are trying to avoid having a lawless open PvP format like other survival games like Ark and Rust. It is unclear how this will translate into base raiding and Pal fights. However, regular open-world PvP and a Pal Arena will be dedicated purely for player vs. player situations.

Pocketpair has yet to address the issue of hackers accessing this item. Hopefully, developers will release a patch that will permanently disable Radar Spheres or, at the very least, hinder its usage. Until then, players should stick to private lobbies or dedicated servers with friends if they don’t want their Pals grieved.
