How Old is Aloy

The items that you collect throughout your time in OSRS play a pivotal part of how you progress. The game plays host to many, many different items that will serve a number of purposes, some of which are far more useful than others. One particular type of item that you will want to focus on is Auras.

Runescape Auras play a number of different roles within the game. Activated auras can be used in differing ways; some can offer you combat bonuses, whilst others can be used to create a special effect. There are also auras that are strictly used for cosmetic effect, if that is something that you might be interested in.

Regardless of which aura you choose, you will soon notice that whichever you equip will have a temporary effect on your character. If you choose to remove the aura then the time that you have left will reach 0, since the effect cannot be paused. You can also check how long the aura’s effect has left by simply clicking on your equipped aura and selecting the ‘Aura Time Remaining’ option. Death will also see the end of your aura’s use, with the only exceptions being if you are located in specific areas that allow items to remain equipped after your untimely demise.

Another feature that you will need to keep in mind when it comes to using auras is that there is a cooldown period between using them. Luckily, if you log out, the cooldown timer continues.

How do you get Auras in RuneScape?

So now that you have a little bit of background on how auras can serve you, it has probably left you wondering where you can pick them up. Throughout the game, you will have the opportunity to purchase auras from either Dilwyn, Xuan or Solomon’s Store.

If you are looking to purchase auras from Xuan, then these can be found just to the right of Burthorpe Castle, or alternatively in Varrock Square. Dilywn meanwhile is located within the Tower of Voices. If you search for the Prifddinas Lodestone, you will find it just to the South-west.

When should you buy Auras?

This is probably the next question on your mind when it comes to Runescape Auras. Ultimately, when you start collecting auras is entirely down to how you approach the game. The next sections will outline some of the auras that you should look into collecting, depending on what you want to use them for.

As you will know by now, you can use auras for cosmetic purposes, in which case you can start collecting them as soon as you are ready to do so. However, if you want to know which auras to start working towards to increase your character’s power, then read on.

Which RuneScape Auras should you focus on getting first?

Runescape Auras come in numbered tiers, and one aura that I believe you should be working towards getting are the Supreme Accuracy Auras. These auras will effectively allow you to punish your opponents with frightening accuracy. This tier-4 aura selection of Brawler, Sharpshooter and Runic accuracy will boost your Melee, Ranged and Magic respectively. Alternatively, you can choose any single one of these to cater to your combat style, though the combination of all three can be particularly deadly. The total costs for these three auras if you haven’t purchased the previous tiers is 107,000 loyalty points, so it is worth focusing on the previous three tiers beforehand.

Another aura worth looking into is the Penance Aura. This will allow you to take 100 points of damage when getting hit, which will in turn lead you to restoring five prayer points if you are using Penance. Regardless of what damage you take, you will see 5% of it restored in Prayer points, which can come in handy. What’s more, you have one hour to use it, with a three-hour cooldown period attached to it. The total cost of this will be 23,000 loyalty points, which in retrospect is a small price to pay considering how much you will save in having to purchase as many prayer potions.

Which RS Auras are good for Bossing/Slayer?

The Supreme Accuracy Auras that have been detailed above can come in very useful for both Bossing and Slayer tasks, but there is perhaps another that is just as, if not even more, useful than Supreme Accuracy.

There are Melee and attack auras that will help you out significantly in such tasks, known as Berserker, Maniacal and Reckless. As with the Supreme Accuracy choices, these can be used individually to increase the combat method that you have chosen to adopt. Berserker has a focus on Melee, whilst Reckless increases Ranged and Maniacal boosts Magic. Each of these will be increased by 10% though you need to be aware that it does have a negative effect on your Defence and Protection levels. You will have 30 minutes to use these auras, and there is a rather hefty 5-hour cooldown period with it. Each aura will also cost you 50,000 loyalty points.

Within this short guide, you will have come across seven Runescape Auras that many will consider to be vital to your experience in OSRS. The beauty of these items is that you can use them to cater to how you decide to approach the game. You will have noticed by now that there are many advantages from collecting them, regardless of what you want to achieve when playing the title.

By collecting the above listed auras, particularly those that focus on both melee and accuracy, you will certainly become a formidable force to be reckoned with. On the flipside, you need to be aware that there are some downsides when it comes to your defence in some instances. This shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you combine all three of each set of auras, which will strike fear into even the most deadly of enemies. If cosmetic purposes are more your bag, then go ahead and hand over your hard-earned loyalty points to your heart’s content!
