The Best Weapons in Fortnite at Your Disposal
Fortnite’s got bucketloads of weaponry, gear, and gadgets and it always seems like more stuff is coming out every day. To some, it can be fantastic. There are so many novel additions that it doesn’t get old. To others, however, all the options can be baffling and overwhelming. Personally, I fall into both categories. Regardless of which one you fall into, this guide for the Best Weapons in Fortnite will give you the upper hand on the competition by knowing what the best weapons at your disposal right now.
Can you say Headshot?
One of the best weapons you can have in your arsenal is a sniper. You need to be able to take out enemies from afar, and there’s no easier way that with a long-range gun. Boom! Headshot. Not only is it one of the most exciting feelings in the game, but it’s also one that you need. If you’re going to be victorious reliably, you need to have a sniper.
As far as particulars, I’d personally recommend the Heavy Sniper or the Bolt Action. The Suppressed ones are fantastic for sneaky murdering, but remember, the most important thing is to be accurate and hit your shot. Stray away from things that require more than one shot.
Do you like things that go Boom?
How about a little explosion? Better yet, how about a big one? Whatever the case may be, if you come across explosives, keep them. They’re positively invaluable. They can hurt people, take down structures, and otherwise scare the bejeezsus out of everyone who comes along.
The best explosive you can come across is the rocket launcher. If you come across a rocket launcher and don’t keep it, you’re shooting yourself in the foot big time. However, some people don’t like the way it fires, and I’ll admit that it can be troublesome if you don’t properly strategize. Another great alternative is, of course, the grenade launcher. Although I prefer the rocket launcher most of the time, the grenade launcher is certainly not without its merits.
Have you met Mr. Reliable?
Mr. Reliable. Aka, the Scar. Take it in gold or purple. As one of the strongest, most reliable, most ferocious guns available, it’s a sure-fire tool for success. What’s the level of success? Well, that’s up to you. You either win the game or look really cool dying. Regardless of the outcome, you don’t want your enemies getting their grabby little hands all over it, so if you find a Scar and if you for whatever reason don’t want to use it, make sure to not leave it out in the open for someone to find. Here’s a tip—leave it out somewhere near a trap, then wait.
That’s it. Really. You can go. That’s all I have to say about the Scar. There are no downsides. Just use it and you’re better off already. Boom.
What about Spam?
If I had a friend that was just starting off, I’d hesitate to tell them this because of how much I despise this aspect of the game but I’m gonna say it anyway: spam like your life depends on it. In a game where skill can be outweighed by relentless spamming, you need to become one with the art of spam. Spray and pray! Unless you’re playing against the greatest player in the world, people hate being spammed because it works. It’s hard to think, it puts the enemy in a defensive position, and it’s quite fun.
As for what weapons to try, that boils down to personal preference. There’s already a bunch of options, and sooner or later, there’ll be more. I recommend the Minigun, because it never runs out of ammo, sounds and looks awesome, and because it tears through everything. If you have less ammo and you can’t afford to spray and pray with reckless abandon, use a P90 and reload occasionally.
Are you sneaky?
Okay, this is not as definite as some of the other categories, but here goes: are you sort of person to go in guns-a-blazin’, screaming at the top of your lungs and going for hell or high water? Maybe skip this section. On the other hands, are you the sort of savage to enjoy being sneaky and not letting your enemies know where you are? If that’s you, read on! If you fall into the sneaky group, you need a silenced weapon. Creep around, kill someone, and giggle to yourself maniacally as everyone else in the map looks around and says, “What the heck was that?”
Anything silenced will do. Scars, snipers, pistols… it’s on your shoulders to pick the one you prefer. Unlock your natural savagery and pull off a hilarious play.

Are you a shotgunner?
Though their popularity varies by the update, shotguns are one of the most critical weapons in the game simply because of the damage they put off if you hit your shots. If you don’t, well…. You probably shouldn’t carry a shotgun. However, if you’re one of those people that even occasionally gets a nice shot in, I’d heartily recommend that you keep one in your arsenal. They’re one of the few weapons in the game that can finish a fight in a second flat. However, I should warn you—you need to watch out for spammers because they will be your natural enemy.
As far as a specific weapon, use a Pump or Heavy if you hit headshots, or a Tactical if you prefer to have a more forgiving weapon.
Are you playing smart?
I know, I know. It’s kinda cheating. Here you thought I’d be listing only “real” weapons, but you need to understand that often times, playing smart can guarantee your victory or, sadly, lose the game for you. You can have all the right weapons, but if you do something to sabotage yourself, you can’t reasonably expect victory. I recommend watching streamers, thinking out your actions beforehand, and practicing.
There are certain Best Weapons in Fortnite that you’re going to need in order to be successful. Sure, you could get away with not having one or two. It’s not like Fortnite has an algorithm that prevents someone from winning if they don’t have a certain arsenal. However, if you make sure to keep the above things in y our inventory, you’re going to have a much better chance of coming away with the win!
Until next time, get out there and have some fun!
