Nahida’s Gnosis
Nahida had always thought of a Gnosis as a ‘core’ that gathers up elemental powers she could use at her discretion. Yet, despite being just that, why is another god collecting all of them in Genshin Impact? While holding the segments of a Harbinger and a foreign Gnosis hostage, she enters negotiations with the owner of the former.
The Harbinger would like to trade the ‘truth’ of the world for the hostages. This, of course, was considered the best bait for the curious Dendro Archon, greedy for any scrap of knowledge. Still, Nahida hesitated, as she knows nothing of the Gnoses nor the ‘truth’ the negotiator hints at.
In the end, she takes the deal. The Electro Gnosis and her own Gnosis will be given to him for destroying his segments and the ‘truth’ of the world.
The Sumeru Archon Quests answer many questions, but it also raises even more. Why, indeed, is the Cryo Archon collecting the Gnoses? What is the significance of their shape beyond the metaphor of being played like in a game of chess?
We are getting closer to the truth, but is it preferable to ignorance? From the quests, you’d think that sometimes not knowing something is better. Look at the sages. In their greed for wisdom, they invited the destruction of the thing they wanted to protect. They don’t remember, which is a small consolation. They’d regret it otherwise.
Have fun and enjoy this child-sized Archon. Don’t underestimate her diminutive stature because she can deal damage like nobody’s business.
