How To Get To Sand Crabs In OSRS
Sand Crabs are sandy monsters in OSRS who may look like harmless little rocks in disguise. But when you walk by them, they start attacking you. They are accessible to all the players, as no Favour is required to kill them. Hence, they are efficient means of farming and training, especially if you’re a free-to-play member.
Getting to the Sand Crabs is not a big feat on its own, as there are several ways to find them. However, all those methods can be time-consuming since Sand Crabs are spawned in a remote open area. It can be pretty challenging for new players to find a way to them without a proper guide.
This guide will introduce you to several methods you can employ to access Sand Crabs in OSRS. The best method for you depends on your available resources.

How To Get To The Sand Crabs?
There are several ways to get to the Sand Crabs, with each method having its own set of requirements. In general, you must ensure you have visited The Crabslaw Isle in Great Kourend, a kingdom in Zeah. If you have not, then only the first method will work for you.
Accessing Crabslaw Isle requires you to pay 10,000 coins. But you can reduce that amount by completing Kourend quests. Completing Easy Kourned and getting the Kebos Achievement Diary reduces the requirement to 5,000 coins. Whereas, if you finish Medium Kourned and get the Kebos Achievement Diary, you won’t have to pay any money to access Crabslaw Isle.
Let’s go through all 9 methods you could employ to get to the Sand Crabs:
- Accessing Sand Crabs Through Port Sarim
This method has no requirements and you can access Sand Crabs without getting to Great Kourend beforehand. You have to go to Port Sarim and speak to Veos. Veos can be found on the northeast part of the dock. He will take you to Port Piscarilius on a boat. Then you have to get to the other side of the continent, all the way south to the beach, to find Sand Crabs.
- Using Fairy Rings
The second method is also relatively simple and requires a Fairy Ring for teleportation. Use the code “DJR” with the Fairy Ring to help you get close to the Chasm Fire, which then requires you to go for a long run to the east and then to the south of the shores to find Sand Crabs. If you have 40 Agility at this point, you can use the stepping stones shortcut east of the Infirmary.
- Using Xeric’s Talisman
This is by far the easiest method which requires Xeric’s Talisman with a built-in teleport called Xeric’s Glade. Xeric’s Talisman is a drop from Lizardmen with a 1/250 drop rate. However, it requires you to be a bit high-level, as even the easiest Lizardmen are level 53.
The Xeric’s Talisman needs to be charged with Lizardman Fangs, which can be bought from the Grand Exchange. Once you have it charged, all you need to do is to teleport to the Xeric’s Glade. From there, walk south to find Sand Crabs on Hosidius beach.
- Using Skill Necklace
This is one of the best methods to get to the Sand Crabs as it doesn’t require Xeric’s Talisman, Fairy Rings, or any other teleportation method. You only need to buy a Skills Necklace from the Grand Exchange. Then you can use that Skill Necklace to teleport to the Woodcutting Guild and run east till you reach the beaches.
- Using Kharedst’s Memoirs
For this method, you need to go to Port Sarim and talk to Veos. You have to complete his quest called Client of Kourend. As a reward for completing this quest, he gives you the Kharedst’s memoirs book, which can be used to teleport to Hosidius. From there, you need to follow the river south and cross over a bridge towards the east to find Sand Crabs.
- Using Minigame Teleports
Once you obtain 100% Hosidius favor, you can enter Tithe Farm. It can be a long and arduous journey, but if you meet this requirement, you can play Minigame Teleport. It helps you teleport to the Tithe Farm, from where you could run south-each to find the beaches with Sand Crabs.
- Accessing Lovakengj Minecart Network
If you have gained 65% Lovakengj favor, you can access Lovakengj Minecart Network. Then you can either pay 50 coins for one-time teleport access or 100,000 coins for a lifetime teleport access through Network. Then you need to take the minecart to Hosidius, and from there, go southeast and cross the bridge to find Sand Crabs south of the beach.
- Using Kourend Castle Teleport
If you have level 69 in Magic, you can unlock Kourend Castle Teleport. Then you can use the teleport, first run south and then southeast to cross the bridges on the way to get to the beach with Sand Crabs.
- Using House teleport tablets
This is the fastest method but with some extreme requirements. You need 25 construction and 8,750 coins to move your house to Hosidius. Then you need to teleport to your house and exit the portal. From there, you can run south to find the Sand Crabs beaches. You can also use scrolls of redirection on House teleport tablets to avoid moving your house.
Is It Worth Getting To The Sand Crabs?
Sand Crabs have an aggressive nature and multiple combos despite having low defense and attack. You can turn on auto-retaliate and farm them by simply standing amidst them while you stay AFK. It really helps your character train for melee, ranged, and magic at a low-level account.
