The PoE Racing Tracker and Top Apps to Utilize

By | July 18th, 2018 | Categories: Path of Exile

If you’ve ever played any MMORPGs you’ll know that there are a lot of things that force you to use external programs to figure out. Path of Exile, in particular, requires quite a bit of external help in order to fully understand or fully immerse yourself in the game. Luckily they have a community that is all for helping out, and there’s a program or website for nearly anything you could ever ask for. Here’s our list of useful things to improve your experience, including the PoE Racing tracker and other apps.

Where can I go to track my PoE Racing Progress?

If you plan to race in Path of Exile, you’ll probably want to know where you stand. You can use the official ladder if you want, but it doesn’t have very good sorting features, including not even having a search function. So if you want to find yourself on the list without going through a bajillion names, what other options are there? Well, a community member felt the same way and decided to do something about it. He build his own site that tracks PoE’s API (Application Programming Interface – basically just real-time stats from the server’s side) and presents it in a lovely format.

PoE Racing is the site and upon using it you will very quickly see that you can easily filter by league, class, skill, or even name. It only records the top 2500 people from each league, for server size reasons, but for any racer, this won’t be a problem. It updates once every four to seven minutes and gives you stats about how much exp you have, how much you’ve been gaining, and what everyone else is getting as well. It also shows who is online regardless of whether they are actively pushing, and has a nice little way to pin particular players to track them in a pop-up window. As someone who has raced myself, poe-racing is everything I wanted in a racing site.

PoE is confusing, can I get some help?

Path of Exile is the most confusing game I’ve ever played, and it is absolutely riddled with statistics. You basically need a second monitor to just display stats half the time you are playing! Okay, not actually, but I need to reference outside sources at least a few times a day, and I know I’m not alone. The place you’ll want to go for all your general stat resources is the official Path of Exile Wiki site. This site has information on nearly everything you could ask for within Path of Exile. The only thing is that since it’s run by players, there is some information occasionally that is out of date. Typically, you’ll only run into this when you search particularly obscure questions, but it is known to happen on occasion.

If you’re looking for builds to play, there are two great resources for you to use. The official Path of Exile forums has many user-submitted guides from every ascendancy. They cover the most basic to the most complex guides, with every user under the sun submitting their guide to be the next meta build or featured as the build of the week. However, this also means that the forums can be a bit confusing to navigate, trying to distinguish between the good, the great, and the downright ugly builds. PlayerAuctions has created our own little compendium of Path of Exile Builds We’ve picked the top few builds from each patch (listed clearly) and created a guide featuring them. Hopefully, you’ll be able to find exactly what you’re looking for!

Where can I go to Trade?

Trading is one of the most frustrating things in Path of Exile – or at least it can be. Once you’ve gotten used to the workarounds, it’s really not too bad. But they take a while, and even then they can be very frustrating at times. There is no built-in trading system in Path of Exile. And the trade channel is absolute garbage, full of scammers. No matter what you plan to trade, your best bet is to look to go with PlayerAuctions. We’ve got you covered. We are a one-stop-shop for buying Path of Exile goodies (Items, Accounts, Silver, Power Leveling, and CD Keys). Do you want that one item but just don’t have time to grind? All your friends have a Headhunter but you have a job? Well now you can join them, or just get that last little push you need.

Anything else I should know?

There are two last sites that I think any serious Path of Exile player should be aware of. The first is extremely useful to everyone, on nearly every character. PoeLab is the place you can go to find labyrinth layouts for every day so that you can spend as little time as possible getting those last few ascendancy points. It shows where you can find keys, dark shrines, and gauntlets, as well as showing the fastest possible way from point A to point B.

The last site, although I said everyone should know about it, will only be used by the most hardcore of players. I’m talking about the Path of Exile Database. This site directly reads everything in the PoE database and translates it into readable forms. However, by readable, I mean you really have to know what you’re looking for and know how to read it. It has accurate information that will never be wrong, unlike the wiki, but it is also much harder to use and should really only be used by those who know what they are doing. However, it is a great resource and everyone should be aware that it is out there, and that it is how people get reliable data if they reference it.
