A Detailed Look Into the Major Additions for WoW Patch 8.1.5

By | February 24th, 2019 | Categories: World of Warcraft

Although still in its infancy, Battle for Azeroth already got treated with one significant patch. Ever since the first major content patch of BfA went live back in December 2018, people started talking about the next patch that’s lined up. And you’ve probably guessed it – this is the WoW Patch 8.1.5 that’s bound to be released anytime soon!

Now, keep in mind that 8.1.5 has been available on the public test realms since January 8. What this means is that the imminent official release date is drawing near and we can’t wait to get our hands on all of the highly anticipated features.

That’s exactly why we thought that it’d be a good idea to take a closer look at the most important things, coming in the second BfA patch!

Will I finally be able play as Kul Tiran Humans and Zandalari Trolls in Patch 8.1.5?

Yes, we can finally get our hands on arguably the most sought-after Allied races since Battle for Azeroth saw the day of light! We owe that thanks to the Battle of Dazar’alor raid, where the Alliance has forged a proper bond with the Kul Tiran Humans, while the Horde gained trust for the Zandalari Trolls. Apparently, Blizzard wanted the two most thematic of all Allied races to become playable only when it makes sense, lore-wise.

What about the racial abilities and available classes for Zandalari Trolls And Kul Tiran Humans?

Both of the new Allied races come with their own set of racial traits and distinct playable classes. You can play Kul Tiran Humans with 8 different classes, while this race also has 5 separate racials. On the other hand, Zandalari Trolls are available with 9 classes and although they have only 4 racial abilities, one of them offers great cross-class versatility.

Classes for Playing with Kul Tiran Human

  • Druid
  • Hunter
  • Mage
  • Monk
  • Priest
  • Rogue
  • Shaman
  • Warrior

Classes for Playing with Zandalari Troll

  • Druid
  • Hunter
  • Mage
  • Monk
  • Paladin
  • Priest
  • Rogue
  • Shaman
  • Warrior

Blizzard also went a step further by giving each of these two new races, race-specific Shaman totems, and Druid shapeshift forms. But when it comes to racial traits, Kul Tiran Humans have more abilities than their Horde counterparts (5 vs 4). Another interesting fact is that Zandalari Trolls have just 1 passive racial ability, while Kul Tiran Humans have only 1 active racial trait. And here they are:

Last but not least, each race comes with a unique and quite distinctive mount. Thus, Zandalari Trolls get the Zandalari Direhorn, while Kul Tiran Humans receive the Kul Tiran Charger as their race-specific mount.

How about the Brand New for Patch 8.1.5?

Patch 8.1.5 will add a brand new raid to Battle for Azeroth. It’s called Crubicle of Storms and in a nutshell, it’s a small raid with only two bosses inside. The raid itself is located somewhere beneath the Shrine of the Storm dungeon in the Stormsong Valley zone.

Now, the whole narrative behind the Crubicle of Storms raid seems to be related to the Xal’atath questlines. Apparently, there’s a fragment of N’Zoth in this raid and the Xal’atath quest chain will reveal what the whole thing is about. As for the actual bosses, they seem to drop some pretty good items – have a look yourself…

The Restless Cabal – Loot Table

Uu’nat, Harbinger of the Void – Loot Table

Logically though, it seems that the Crubicle of Storms raid encounter will be released sometime later in 8.1.5. That’s because BfA’s second raid Battle of Dazar’alor was added to the game only recently and Blizzard wants to give its raids some breathing space.

Am I going to see any PvP updates?

Absolutely, although we won’t be seeing any major changes or updates happening in the world of PvP. Regardless, these are all the PvP modifications that will be released with this patch:

  • Arathi Comp Stomp Brawl – This is a new PvP brawl-type scenario that puts players against AI in the Arathi Basin BG
  • Wintergrasp Epic BG – The intriguing WotLK battleground is returning as an epic BG
  • New Orgrimmar and Stormwind portal rooms – One portal for the Alliance will become available inside the Mage Tower in SW, while Horde players will have one portal at their disposal located at the Gates of Orgrimmar in OG

What’s the official release date of WoW Patch 8.1.5?

Well, Blizzard hasn’t announced anything yet so we may only speculate. But since the PTR for 8.1.5 has been online since early January and the last raid finder wing of BoD kicks off in late February, this patch will most likely be released very soon. We’ll even take a wild guess and say that you can expect patch 8.1.5 to hit the live servers sometime in March or April!

Conclusion

There’s no doubt that the massive WoW Patch 8.1.5 gets a worthy successor in the face of 8.1.5. Not only are we getting a brand new raid encounter, but we’ll finally be able to try the elusive Kul Tiran Humans and Zandalari Trolls.

What do your personal thoughts regarding patch 8.1.5 though – are you glad that the two most thematic Allied races are finally being added to the game? Feel free to let us know by leaving a comment below!
