Genshin Impact Primogem Farming for All Your Wishing Needs

Genshin Impact Primogem Farming Guide

Wishing is the best way to get new heroes or better weapons in Genshin Impact. To wish, you need fates. Although the game may reward you with fates, it does so one by one. And that’s too slow if you want to reach the ‘pity’ count, where you are guaranteed a 5-star hero. The solution is to buy fates from the shop. They cost 160 Primogems, 5 Starglitter, or 75 Stardust. While you can get the latter two currencies by wishing, you don’t have much of them when you’re starting out. It’s time up your Genshin Impact Primogem Farming game.

Genshin Impact Primogem Farming Methods

Here are the various ways of getting Genshin Impact Primogems so you can wish all you want!

Play the Game

You naturally get Primogems while playing the game. Quests give bigger amounts than opening chests, but there are hundreds of chests scattered across the map. Discovering Statues of the Seven and Teleport Waypoints also rewards Genshin Impact Primogems.

Later, when you reach about Adventure Rank 30, quests slow down and trickle to a full stop; you’ve discovered all the statues and waypoints. That leaves opening chests as a constant source of Primogems.

Some of them even hide in plain sight. You can find some under rock piles blending with the landscape. Others hide within breakable boxes. If you’ve seen towers of rocks grouped together, destroy them and a chest will appear.

There are also these weird-looking plants you can encounter. Investigating or interacting with them will make them release their balloon-like flowers. You can shoot those down as doing so will reward you with a chest. That’s not even mentioning the obvious elemental monument and the ‘light the torches’ puzzles, or those protected by enemies!

So explore, discover, and find those chests, do some quests, and you’ll get Genshin Impact Primogems!

Focus on Achievements

That ties into completing achievements. They reward you with 5-20 gems each, and there are so many of them. You get them as you play the game. Completing quests, playing with friends, and even some specific actions can award you with achievements. Some you can get accidentally since hidden ones exist. Discovering the latter ones is part of the charm of the game, so don’t be afraid of trying out things you haven’t considered before.

Do the Adventure Handbook Challenges

Completing a chapter of the handbook will reward you with the currency. Doing all four of the Daily Commissions will reward you with the currency. Along the way, you’ll also get some AR experience, Mora, and various other rewards. Most notable are some artifacts and keys to open the Shrines of Depths.

You can do this while leveling up your AR, so that’s hitting two birds with one stone. Don’t ignore the Adventure Handbook!

Conquer the Spiral Abyss

Completing the 8 floors of the Spiral Abyss with all three stars for all chambers will award you with 2,400 Genshin Impact Primogems. You can only do this once, though. Also, as you go further into it, the enemies get stronger and stronger. On the later floors, you’ll need two teams to clear the chambers. You’ll need 8 characters you’ve built up and strengthened.

One way to do that is to wish and hope to get more useful characters to level up and ascend. To do that you need fates and to get fates you need Primogems. At least you can do about half without needing another team. That’s about 1,200 Primogems ripe for the taking, so get right on this challenge!

Spend Real Money Instead of Farming Primogems in Genshin Impact

Yes, you can use your real money to get Primogems. Buy the Crystals and exchange them for the gems. Of course, it’s your choice whether you want to do so or not. Some Battle Pass levels reward Primogems as well if you bought the Gnostic Hymn or Gnostic Chorus for it.

Check out In-Game Events

Lastly, you can also get Primogems through in-game events. Check out the events page from Paimon’s menu to check what the current ones are. As of the time of writing, the Elemental Crucible and some character trial runs are ongoing.

Get those Gems after Farming Primogems in Genshin Impact

Yes, you can also use Primogems to refill your Resin. However, nobody would recommend you do so. Every time you use this service, the cost increases. It will become too expensive for it to be worth it. Using Primogems for fates and wishes is a better use of the currency.

The leaks for the game’s Patch 1.1 include a new event called ‘The Unreturned Star’. Notes on further updates also tell of an event coming next February, coinciding with the Chinese New Year. You can expect events to come by regularly, especially to keep players interested in the game.

Good luck with your Genshin Impact Primogem farming, and may you get what you wish for!
