Is anyone up for a quick game of poker? How about hearts? Perhaps you’re the kind of card player who prefers to play alone? Solitaire then! Whatever happens, to be your game of choice, you can now play it in distinct retro-gaming flair, all thanks to the cool Super Mario Cards.

Who are the Super Mario Bros?

You’re kidding, right? Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past four decades, there’s no way you haven’t at least seen this dynamic duo. Who doesn’t remember the famous Mario Bros? These iconic siblings went from their humble beginnings as video game characters, courtesy of Nintendo, straight into the collective psyche of mainstream culture back in the ‘80s and beyond. The original Mario game spawned dozens of subsequent titles ranging from instant classics to downright silly ones.

The result: Pop culture immortality! You don’t need to look far for proof as these cards can attest. The brothers even had their own TV show (starring Captain Lou Albano as the larger-than-life Mario). Even decades after the initial Super Mario Bros game was launched, these Italian plumbers, whose vertical leaps would put even His Airness Michael Jordan to shame, are still very much deeply etched in popular culture.

What do I get when I buy a Super Mario Deck?

In terms of novelty and collectability, a set of Super Mario Cards is as good as it gets. You’ll still be getting a regular deck for pretty much the same games, but with a unique twist—none of the boring artwork here. With this deck, all your favorite video game characters will come to life in awesome and authentic 8-bit glory.

The Deck

  • King – Who else but Mario? Really, did you think for a second that it would be anyone else?
  • Queen Again, no surprise here as our favorite Princess Peach adorns the queen card.
  • Jack – This one goes to Luigi as he’s next up in the hierarchy of things.
  • Joker – No deck would be complete without an extra Joker card. Bowser (also known as King Koopa) takes the honors, or rather, “dis-honors” for this one. No contest!

As for the numbers, they vary depending on the type of suit (hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds). We’re not going to spoil the fun for you, but we are going to say that among the notable artwork are the Goombahs, Bullet Bill, Koopa Troopas, One-Up Mushrooms, Bloopers, and other such mainstays in the classic Mario game.

Dealing the Hand You’ve Chosen

They say that in life, you have to just suck it up and play the hand you’re dealt. We say take matters into your own hands and choose your own. For that matter, choose the entire deck! Get the Super Mario Cards and relive the awesome 8-bit stylings of the ‘80s.
