Quest Guide for The Fremennik Trials OSRS
To begin the Fremennik Trials quest in OSRS, head to the north of the entrance of Rellekka and talk to Brundt the Chieftain. He will tell you that you need to impress seven of the twelve members of the council of elders to become a Fremennik. To impress them, you will need to complete a personal task for them. You only need to obtain seven votes, since the other five cannot be obtained. Any of these 12 tasks can be done in order, so let’s start with Manni the Reveller.
Manni the Reveller
From the chieftain, head on over to the bar to find Manni. Speak to him and challenge him to a drinking contest. You can take a beer tankard and a keg of beer from the bar in the longhall. Speak to him again to start drinking, and you will be fighting a losing battle since he won’t get drunk. With that in mind, go back to Seers’ Village and purchase a keg of beer with low alcohol from the Poision Salesman near the bar, which will cost you 250 coins.
Then, give the beer tankard or the beer to the Council workman at the end of the bridge leading to Rellekka to receive a cherrybomb. Head to the Rellekka bar and find the pipe that on the east wall. Light the cherrybomb with your tinderbox and hide it in the pipe. Go back into the hall to grab another beer, then use your new low alcohol keg of beer on the standard keg thats in your inventory. By doing so, you will be able to switch the contents unnoticed.
Once you have done so, speak to Manni. Drink the keg of beer, then Manni will give you his vote after you show that you can drink the keg without getting drunk.
Olaf the Bard
Over to the east of the bar you can find Olaf. To get his vote, you will need to showcase your skills as a bard with a performance at the longhall. With that, you are going to need a lyre.
One way to get a lyre is to make your own. Firstly, get an potato, onion, and cabbage from Rellekka’s vegetable patch. Go through the gates then head east to the Swaying Tree and cut off a branch. Then you need to find string, so go southest until you reach golden sheep and a golden tree. You are going to need golden wool to make your string. Nearby you will Lalli the troll, who will inform you that he gave the apples to another human, thinking that’s what you are looking for instead of wool.
The human you need to find is Askeladden, who is found at the entrance of the Rellekka long hall. He will give you a pet rock that you need to take back to Lalli, who won’t accept it due to it having potential baby rocks. Tell him that you are going to make rock soup with it, so use the ingredients you picked and the pet rock on Lalli’s stew outside of the cave. Get Lalli to taste it, after which you will be given golden fleece. You need to string this into a ball of wool, so head to Seer’s Village. Use the ball of wool on the lyre with your Fletching skill.
Alternatively, you can get the drop from killing Lanzig, Borrokar, Lensa or Freidir. If you are going to do this method, its recommended that you kill Lanzig because of the drop rate of the others, and the fast respawn time of the enemy will help you get it much quicker.
Regardless of how you obtain it, you need to get it enchanted. To do so, you need to bring your raw shark, manta ray, or sea turtle. Go to the southwest part of Rellekka, where you will find a small peninsula with an altar. Use your raw shark or manta ray or sea turtle on the altar. This will summon a spirit known as Fossegrimen, who will enchant your lyre.
Go and speak to Olaf the Bard. After that, go through the door that is being guarded by the bouncer to get on the stage. Stand in front of the crowd and play your lyre, before speaking to Olaf again to finally get his vote of approval.
Sigil the Huntsman
Go over to the entrance gate wher you will find Sigil. Your next task will be to search for the immortal spirit known as the Draugen. You will be given hunters’ talisman to figure out where you need to go. You will receive a chat message of where you need to go around Fremennik Province.
You can also use a butterfly that follows the Draugen around to locate him. Or you could stay by the eastern bridge and wait for a chat message to appear to say the Draugen is here. Regardless of how you find him, you shouldn’t have much issue defeating him if you are level 50 and have the correct gear. Once you have beaten Draugen, the essence will be absorbed in the hunters’ talisman, so you can now get Sigli’s vote by returning it to him.
Sigmund the Merchant
To find Sigmund, head to the market. To get his vote, you need to give him an exotic flower. To start this process, go and speak to the Sailor on the dock. You will want to ask him about the Merchant’s Trial, and you will learn that he wants a romantic ballad to be composed for him. Head over to Olaf the Bard, who will ask you to get a pair of new boots.
Go to the west of Sigmund and go in the clothing store. Speak to Yrsa, who will agree to make the boots if Brundt the Chieftain lowers the stores’ taxes. Go to Brundt in the longhall, who will tell you that he can afford to lower the taxes if Sigli shows him where to hunt the best monsters. Speak to Sigli, who will agree if you get him a custom-made bowstring.
To the north of the longhall there is a helmet stall. Speak to Skulgrimen who will offer to give you one in exchange for rare fish. Head west to the dock and speak to the fisherman to the north. You need to get a map to find the best spots to find edible fish, so find Swensen the Navigator to the south of the marketplace. Swensen will make you the map if you first get him a weather forecast. To the north-west is Peer the Seer, who will offer you a forcast in exchange for getting Thorvald the Warrior to act as his bodyguard.
Go to the helmet store to find Thorvald. He will request that you get him a seat in the longhall, so go and speak to Manni the Reveller who is willing to give up a seat for one of Thora’s legendary cocktails. Thankfully, Thora is also in the longhall, and will make a cocktail if you get a signed note from Askeladden to get him to stay out of the bar. Askeladden can be found to the south of the longhall, if you give him 5000 coins.
After that, give Thora the note, then the cocktail to Manni. Give the token to Thorvald, then the contract to Peer, and give the forecast to Swensen. Hand the chart to the fisherman, then the first to Skulgrimen, give the string to Sigli, then the map to Brundt. Finally, give the slip to Yrsa, hand over the boots to Olaf, and the ballad to the sailor. You will finally have the flower to give to Sigmund to get the vote you need.
Swensen the Navigator
Next, go to the southwest of the longhall to Swensen’s house. You need to make your way through a maze made up of portals. Go to the southwest of his house and go down the ladder, and you will find four portals in each room. You need to find your way to the next room, which can be done by going through a certain portal.
You can do this by spelling out his name with the direction you are going in, so head through the South portal first. Then go through the west, east, north, south, east then finally north. This will take you to Swensen who will give you his vote by speaking to him.
Thorvald the Warrior
Next, head to the helmet store. You will find that Thorvald lives here, and the task he has for you involves you fighting Koschei the Deathless. There are certain rules however, which are that you have to beat him three times, and you can’t use weapons, armour or runes. Each time you defeat him he comes back stronger, but you only need to beat him three times.
You shouldn’t have any problems with Koschei in the first stage. Its when he regains all of his health and becomes stronger that you might be in for a tough time. Use food or Prayer if you need to, which you are going to need for his third form too.
The fourth form can be difficult, and its recommended that you use enough Ring of Recoil to keep the fight going. You can still win the approval of Thorvald if you fail this fourth stage, and you will be left with 1HP. If you do manage to beat him in this stage, you will receive a Fremennik Blade. Either way, speak to Thorvald who will reward you for your bravery with a vote.
Peer the Seer
South of the market you’ll find Peer. You need to complete a seemingly simple task of entering the front door of his house. This might be a bit too simple, and there will be a number of obstacles in your way. You can’t take items in, and you have a number of puzzles to answer. You will receive a clue for each answer, and the answer is a four-letter word. The answers are one of the following; mind, time, life, fire, mage, tree, and wind. You will receive a clue from Peer for each letter, so follow the clues to spell out the word that you are looking for.
Once you get into the house, head upstairs. Check out the area until you find a red herring, an old red disk, an empty jug, an empty bucket, and a wooden disk. Find the chest upstairs, which can be opened by setting four litres of water on the top of it. Firstly, fill up the bucket you found from the tap that you can find from the south of the cooking range. Then use the full buckt on the jug. Empty the jug on the train, then use the bucket on the jug. Fill up the bucket with the tap once more, then use the bucket on the jug again so you’ve got four fifths of a full bucket. Use the bucket on the chest to get the vase.
Next, use the red herring on the cooking range to make sticky red goo, then use it on the disk to make two red disks. After, use the full jug on the vase. Put the lid on the vase to make a sealed vase, the use it on the frozen table back up the ladder to get the frozen key. You can unfreeze the key by using it on the cooking range. Afterwards, go down the ladder to the east, then go through the exit. This will get you Peer’s vote, which will give you all seven of the required votes.
Go back to Chieftain Brundt, and talk to him. Now that you have all seven votes, you will have finally completed the quest.
