Since it’s December, the Winter Wonderland event is in focus for Overwatch 2. The festivities include a bunch of holiday-themed cosmetics—with one of them being free for everyone to get. Overwatch 2’s first Winter Wonderland went underway on December 13 and is currently set to run through until January 4, 2023. If you want to know how to unlock the Sleighing D.Va Legendary skin for Overwatch 2, you’ve come to the right place. I’ll be showing you how to acquire this cosmetic for yourself and what other things await you in Winter Wonderland.

Getting the Sleighing D.Va Skin

You can get the Sleighing D.Va Legendary skin free of charge through Twitch drops. Players must redeem the skin and the other accessories that come with it before the end of the drops. From December 24 to January 4, you must visit the Twitch category for Overwatch 2 and watch a streamer play the game. Note that you’ll have to pick a channel/streamer with drops enabled; otherwise, you won’t get the cosmetic. If you watch the stream for two hours, you’ll get the Festival D.Va Victory Pose. Then, if you keep watching for four additional hours, you’ll get the Sleighing D.Va skin.

We recently had a Twitch drop for Overwatch 2—the free Traveling Monk Legendary Ramattra Skin. If you’re thinking of also redeeming this skin, you’re out of luck; the drops ended on December 25.

Linking Your Battle.net Account to Twitch

It goes without saying that when availing Twitch drops, you’ll have to connect the account you’re using for Overwatch 2 to Twitch. Failure to do so will only result in wasted time and energy. Thankfully, connecting your Battle.net account and your Twitch account is a simple task.

First, sign in to your Battle.net account using a web browser, then visit the Connections page. Once on the Connections page, click the “Connect” button next to Twitch—you can find this in the “Connection Accounts” section. And voila, you’ve officially connected your Battle.net account to Twitch!

If you’ve done everything correctly, you can watch a streamer play Overwatch 2 until you can redeem the Festival D.Va Victory Pose and Sleighing D.Va skin. The drops can be earned and claimed through your PC or Mac’s web browser. Note that you’ll have to redeem the Festival D.Va Victory Pose before you can progress on your path to getting the free skin for her. If you don’t claim the Victory Pose first, the number of hours you’ve accumulated while watching a streamer play OW 2 won’t be counted toward your progress to redeem the cosmetic.

What If I Want to Enable Drops for My Stream?

The process is easy if you’re on the other side of the spectrum and want to have drops enabled instead. To enable these drops on your Twitch channel, head to the “Drops” section on the website. Then, click the “Enable Drops” button, and you’re good to go. Make sure to let your viewers know that you have drops enabled by adding tags such as “Drops Enabled,” “Drops,” and the like. That way, they’ll be incentivized to watch you—at least until they get their free stuff.

What Awaits You in Winter Wonderland

Every in-game event in Overwatch 2 grants us players two things: themed skins and limited-time game modes. In the case of Winter Wonderland, we have the free Sleighing D.Va skin and Ice Queen Brigitte. As mentioned before, you can unlock the Sleighing D.Va skin through Twitch. But as for Ice Queen Brigitte, you’ll have to complete six out of the eight event challenges available for a limited time.

Here are the challenges to expect, each offering a specific reward upon completion:

Challenge NameObjectiveReward
Block of IceBlock 8 snowballs using Ice Wall or Cryo-Freeze in Mei’s Snowball Offensive or Snowball DeathmatchSojourn Spray and 1,500 Battle Pass XP

WarmheartedThaw up to 15 allies in Freezethaw EliminationKiriko Spray and 1,500 Battle Pass XP
SnowstormWin a game in Snowball Deathmatch1,500 Battle Pass XP

As for the limited-time game modes, there are three to choose from: Mei’s Snowball Offensive, Mei’s Yeti Hunt, and Freezethaw Elimination. Mei’s Snowball Offensive for Overwatch 2 is slightly different this time compared to the first game. Instead of charging up for an icicle or streaming frost like before, Mei will now shoot snowballs that result in a KO. Then, as for the Yeti Hunt, it’s basically a 5v1 mode where five heroes are pitted against another player who controls an overpowered Winston. Lastly, Freezethaw Elimination is the newest mode for Winter Wonderland. In this game mode, your goal is to freeze all opponents. You can eliminate heroes by freezing them in place indefinitely, and the only way another team member can bring them back into the fray is by thawing them out.

Overwatch 2 is free-to-play on PC and all consoles—including the Nintendo Switch. The game features cross-platform play and cross-progression, so whether you’re on the go or in the comfort of your home, you can progress through your Battle Pass and Dailies with ease.
