What is Reflections in Crystal, and What New Quests are There?
The Reflections in Crystal patch brings about a conclusion to the Shadowbringers narrative. Players can expect new quests, dungeons and more to come when the next patch has been implemented. One of the key points of the upcoming released is the new main scenario quests.
These will see time called on FFXIV: Shadowbringers, as they aim to showcase the Scions attempting to foil the plans of the Ascian Elidibus. Meanwhile, there will also be a rework for the A Realm Reborn main scenario questline. This will give players old and new a much smoother transition for playing through this storyline going towards Heavensward. Also, there will also be the opportunity for players to use flying mounts, though the Ultimate Weapon quest will need to have been completed first.
Elsewhere, we have a new Beast Tribe quest, which sees the dwarves making an appearance in a new crafter storyline. Also, we will see a new “Chronicles of a New Era” quest known as the Sorrow of Werlyt. This is part of the Weapon Series, which will lead to a pulsating special event battle at the end.
A New Raid and Dungeon in FFXIV Patch 5.3
If new quests aren’t enough, then you should be content with a brand-new dungeon. Entitled The Heroes’ Gauntlet, this sees the entirety of Novrandt being overrun with battles, which will test the mightiest of Warriors of Darkness. Players can now use the Trust system to be accompanied by a party of non-player characters. Alternatively, they can also take on this new challenge with their friends and peers.
As for the new raid, this will see a crossover with the Nier franchise. The new “Dark Apocalypse Alliance” raid sees the appearance of renowned character 2P, who emerges to the danger threatening Komra in the next NieR crossover raid entitled The Puppets’ Bunker.
The New Trial
The upcoming patch will also see the release of new battle content with Unreal Trials. Here players will be able to pick a fight with primals that are powered up enough to take on heroes at level 80. These trials will offer a single primal fight which will alternate with each patch, and will begin with Shiva in Patch 5.3. By beating these primals on a weekly basis, you will unlock the opportunity to take part in a new mini-game in which you can win tokens for prizes to exchange for. Players can expect to face off with formidable foes of varying difficulties.
Speaking of trials, the game’s free trial has been expanded. This lets players take in everything that FFXIV has to offer for an unlimited amount of time through level 60. You will also be able to play Heavensward content, three extra playable jobs, and the additional Au Ra race.
