New World Season 2 Overview

New World’s latest season is well underway thanks to the successful launch of Season 2: Blood of the Sands. The expansion introduces a slew of important novelties in the MMO, an interworld raid on the outpost, and changes on the world map. Surprisingly, the downtime was only two hours before the servers went live again.

This season will take you on a journey through the desert of Brimstone Sands. From there, you must help the eponymous group of ancient desert-dwellers searching for the eggs of Shah Neshen, the Devourer. If you’ve yet to download the latest season to your game, here’s an overview of what you can expect for New World Season 2.

The Story So Far

One of the mysteries within the Brimstone Sands is the creature known as the Devourer, a massive sandworm. The ancient group called the Blood of the Sands and their leader, Malek, have popped up from the shadows to seek help. You, the main character, must assist them in finding the eggs of the wretched beast that terrorizes the desert.

For this season, you must join Rima the Bard and the Silver Crows to uncover the secrets of their history with the Shah Neshen and the order. If you’ve completed the main storyline in Season 1, you can pick up new quests from any Crows Nest camps for this all-new campaign. However, if you still haven’t finished all the Season 1 storyline quests, you can pick up the new quest regarding Shah Neshen from the Crows Nest.

Elite Trial Incoming

Thinking you can defeat Shah Neshen, the Devourer? If so, enter the Arena to get the chance to subdue the sandworm in exchange for elite rewards! The latest PvE game mode can hold up to 20 players who have already reached the max level.

Perhaps the best addition to New World’s Season 2 is the new Heartune ability called The Devourer. With it, you can summon a sandworm from the ground to damage everything within its path.

A New Season Pass

Blood of the Sands has a new Season Journey, Challenges, activities on the Activity Card, and rewards in store for you. Most notably, the new rewards include consumables and cosmetics, such as Transmog Tokens.
