4 Ways to Earn More FIFA 18 Coins By Trading
When trying to earn more FIFA 18 Coins, trading players is a good way to get the job done. Of course, working the transfer market serves the main purpose of making your team better, but at the end of the day, you will probably want to get more coins in the game. For many, earning more coins is the be-all and end-all of the FIFA 18 and FIFA Ultimate Team experience, and that’s why we’re going to be talking about some ways you could do some trading in the game and end up with a significant amount of coins in the process.
1. Newbies Can Try The Bronze Pack Method for FIFA 18 Coins
We’re going to start out this guide with a trading method that’s most recommended for anyone who’s new to the game. The Bronze Pack method entails the purchase of a few bronze card packs — you could go for the 400-coin option, or the more expensive 750-coin option. Once you open the pack, you’ll usually end up with player fitness, squad fitness, and/or healing cards (i.e., consumables) that you can sell for a couple hundred coins each.
You may also get some players, and while they might be scrubs with little value, you’ll still want to hang on to them. We’re going to explain this later, as we talk about earning FUT coins by trading players as part of a Squad Building Challenge (SBC). The bottom line is that it’s not recommended to sell those scrubs right away. Instead, wait until their prices go up, and hang on for an SBC where those otherwise weak players can be involved.
2. What’s The Defender Method?
You’ve probably heard a bit about the so-called “defender method,” which is arguably one of the best ways to earn FIFA 18 coins through trading. As you might have guessed, this technique focuses on the buying and selling of defenders, but we won’t overwhelm you with a laundry list of defenders you should purchase to make this technique work for you, much less their teams, stats, and other details that don’t have anything to do with coins. So read on because I’ll show you how to use this method to your advantage.
The first thing to do is head to the Transfer Market, and under player quality, select “Gold.” Set your position to Defenders, and choose whichever league you prefer to scout for some quality players at that position. Most prefer the English Premier League, so if we’d pick a good place to start, you’ll probably want to search there. When setting the “Buy Now” price, anything from 400 to 500 is fine. The suggested price may vary depending on the platform you’re using. Hit Search, and you should be good to go for the next set of steps.
Before you can even think of earning coins by trading your defenders, you will, of course, need to buy them first and quickly. We’ve seen many cases where players go quickly, so make sure you’re not wasting any time. Repeat your search as needed (ideally until you’ve got about 5 to 10 players), and if you don’t see anybody’s name come up when you hit the Search button, you can raise the “Buy Now” price (e.g., if you started at 450, you can go up to 500 for your next search).
Once you’ve come up with a set of players, you can then proceed to selling them. Of course, you should adjust the “Buy Now” price before selling them — we would recommend about 100 coins more than the purchase price you had paid earlier. In most cases, your players will be snapped up in an hour or so, and you’ll be able to earn a good number of FIFA 18 coins by using the trading technique.
3. Use The Squad Building Challenges Feature
The Squad Building Challenges (SBC) are another good way for you to earn FIFA 18 coins by trading, and it’s based on the assumption that FIFA Ultimate Team squads tend to have lots players who can be considered surplus to a manager’s needs. It’s an easy feature to use, and if you use it right, you can quickly add to your stockpile of coins.
Given what we had told you earlier, we would strongly advise you not to follow the lead of FUT players who quick-sell anyone whom they deem useless. Don’t fall into that trap, and bear in mind that FIFA 18 launches new SBCs every week — it’s better to wait rather than to jump the gun right away and go for the quick-sell option. Don’t hesitate to shop around and look for leagues that are active at any given period in time. Squad Building Challenges allow FUT 18 players to get something substantial for their surplus players, and that applies to players of all tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
What are examples of SBCs that could help you earn lots of coins? Which players should you be trading, buying, or selling? To answer both questions, one example is challenges that require you to sell players of a specific tier from a certain country’s leagues, say, five Premier League players. You will typically end up selling your players at a higher price than usual, and on top of that, you’ll also earn rewards for completing the SBC, which are often new players to add to your team.
4. About Silver Sniping
Last, but not the least, the “Silver Sniping” technique has been mentioned by some as an effective means of earning coins. When it comes to trading, many FIFA 18 players are too focused on their gold players, but that doesn’t mean silver players or lower are worthless. For this method, we’ll obviously be focusing on the silver players, so read on for a few individual ways you can use silver sniping to earn a solid amount of coins.
First off, you can use silver sniping in a similar way to what we had suggested earlier — by using the “Buy Now” price. Select Silver as player quality (earlier, we had chosen Gold), then set your “Buy Now” price to 200 to 300, with this value subject to change based on the console or platform you’re using. Hit Search, then buy up to ten players that fit the criteria you had set. Once you’ve bought the players, you can then sell them at a value higher than the purchase price you had paid earlier. You may need to do some reading up to see which players fetch higher values than their usual Buy Now price — you could end up with a profit of a few hundred coins per player if you choose the right ones!
Alternately, you could use a player’s Max Price to earn FIFA 18 coins by trading your silver players in the Transfer Market. Like you did above, you’ll want to start out by choosing Silver player quality and setting your max price — this time, make it a bit higher, say, 250 to 300 coins. Again, this depends on the platform, but 250 to 300 coins are usually fine. Hit Search, and buy players as you did above, but before you buy the players, you’ll also need to take some things into account. For example, you’ll want to choose players from popular leagues, such as the English Premier League or France’s Ligue 1. In general, go for silver player cards where the players have a higher-than-average pace and work rate, above-average stats.
Once you’ve whittled down your list of candidates for trading to a few players, you can start bidding and buying — you don’t need to use the “Buy Now” button like you normally do, but that also means you’ll need to be patient and wait until the transfer time expires. You may be outbid on some players, but if bids are set reasonably, you might end up with more than a few once the transfer time is over.
As you can see, this FIFA 18 coins -earning method requires lots of research on top of the trading. There will always be someone out there who will end up overbidding for one of the silver players you put up on sale. If you don’t encounter players who make ridiculously high bids, you’ll still earn a tidy profit through this second method of silver sniping.
