How to Make Money in Metamorph, PoE’s New League
PoE’s New League, Metamorph, has been out for just over two weeks now. The new league comes with a full atlas rework, lots of new and changed abilities, and all the perks a new challenge league has to offer. But new content, many bug fixes, and new bosses aside, how do you make money from this new league? There are lots of ways, and most aren’t particularly new. But we’re going to go over a few of them, both to cover things going forward and things you can plan for as you look towards the next league.

How to make money from Labyrinth?
Farming Uber Lab (or the Eternal Labyrinth, as it’s called in-game) is one of the most consistent sources of income at the start of any league. This is some of the least enjoyable content for most players, but that just adds to the value of the rewards, since so few players want to grind their way through it.
There are many reasons that Uber Lab is so good, but one of the big ones is how little investment is needed to efficiently farm it. Even with the boss health and damage boost this league, building a character specifically built for Uber Lab isn’t too difficult. Using either Champion or Juggernaut is typically advised, as they are the tankiest classes and can trivialize most of Uber Lab—traps included. However, they aren’t the only option, and if you find a build that works better for you, by all means, feel free to use it instead.
You have two goals while running lab. First, collect as many keys as possible. Second, get to the end as fast as possible. These two goals conflict, so you’ll have to decide the optimal route each day. Use www.poelab.com for a great breakdown of the lab layout every day.
Most of your money will be made from enchanting helmets. If you can hit one of the meta enchants, it will get you a few exalts easily. But you will also be making quite a bit of money from simply opening chests. In the past, this was offset by the cost of purchasing the Offerings, but now they are so cheap that the entrance fee is basically negligible, which is why running lab is the top of our list for profit!
How do you make money from maps?
Mapping is one of the most widely accepted forms of making money. There isn’t anything particularly difficult or interesting when it comes to mapping, just keep running maps and progress to higher tier maps for better drops. If you can get to the higher tier maps early in a league, you can sell maps and bases for a ton of profit. At this point, however, you just want to be mapping fast and efficiently. Keep running high tier maps if you are able, because of the new Awakener bonus.
Try to get your Awakener bonus as high as possible by socketing as many Watchstones as you can. For each set of four Watchstones you complete, you’ll increase your Awakener level by one, which, among other things, will raise the odds of you getting a Shaper or Elder map from the boss of every T14+ map by 1%. Each Shaper or Elder map you find will sell for a pretty penny–and so will the fragments if you decide to run them instead.
Alongside these new mechanics, you also earn money the typical way, from finding currency and loot in general. Once again, it is incredibly easy to sustain maps in this league. By using the Alch-and-go, you don’t have to worry about messing with Sextants or anything else if you don’t feel like it. Leisurely mapping has never been easier to turn a profit with!
Can I profit from Bossing?
You can definitely profit from bossing, particularly early on in the league. Typically, bossing would have lost its value by this point. But because the atlas progression is so much slower, you can still make quite a bit of money killing Elder, Shaper, and other bosses. However, the way to really make money bossing is by selling your services.
By making a thread on the Path of Exile forums (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-forum/1502), you can advertise your services, as well as by using the in-game Trade 820 channel. If you’re able to take on the strongest bosses the game has to offer, people will be willing to pay you a fee so that they can acquire loot they would otherwise be unable to get. The two bosses you’ll want to perfect if you go this route are Aul and Sirus. These two bosses give the most players trouble, and you can charge quite a bit if you can perfect them and consistently provide players with dependable service.
To a lesser extent, you can do the same service with odd maps such as Hall of Grandmasters or the new Cortex maps. Anything players might want to do, without the ability to complete themselves can turn a crafty player a profit!
How do I go about Currency Flipping?
This is easily the most boring method on the list, yet it’s also the most effective. If you’re willing to look up the ratios for every single currency, and price them so that you profit slightly as players use you to swap, you can make a ton of money by sitting in your hideout. The problem with currency flipping is that you’ll be competing with bots, you’ll have to deal with a ton of player interaction, and most importantly, it is mind-numbingly boring. You’re basically giving up playing the game in favor of working for a decent in-game wage. However, if you’re willing to do it, this is also the most reliable method to make the most money. There are a ton of guides out there on how to flip effectively, be sure to check a few of them out if you decide to go this route.
So there you have it! Be sure to try out these methods and see which ones work for you the best. You’ll be on the fast track to riches in no time at all. Now play on, Exile!
