Apex Legends Packs

Respawn Entertainment gives away eight Apex Packs to all players who log in to Apex Legends. The giveaway came as compensation to everyone after the community had to deal with many issues within the game. While these packs are your standard loot, gamers can get Heirloom shards or Legendary cosmetics for free. Fortunately, the process of getting these rewards is simple.

Get Eight Apex Legends Packs by Logging In

All players need to do for the giveaways is log in to the game to receive the Apex Packs, which you can use anytime. You won’t get any prompt that you received these loot bots, and the game will just tell you that you have eight packs on the lower right spot where you can see how many you have. Players who worry that this is a result of a hack don’t worry because it’s completely legitimate and was sent out by Respawn.

These loot bots can be used during events to progress through the item collection or at any point if you feel like it. While these are your standard packs, you can still get tons of cool stuff depending on your RNG, ranging from everyday drops to Legendary ones.

Why Did Respawn Give Away Apex Packs

It’s not expected that Respawn Entertainment will give away free Apex Packs when their game is riddled with multiple microtransactions, and they will encourage you to buy them. It makes it even more strange when you consider that they gave away eight of them, which would already equate to a lot of money. However, there is an excellent reason why the studio would roll out these giveaways.

Apex Legends has been in the spotlight for several weeks after a hacker interrupted the most recent ALGS tourney in NA. This incident prompted the tournament to be put on hold, and many gamers were encouraged to uninstall the game. While the hacking was limited to the tournament, gamers played it safe by removing Apex Legends from their Steam library.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the last issue players faced in the game. A few weeks after the hacking incident, players were met with a new problem: All their progress was seemingly erased, and any cosmetics, badges, and stats were lost, infuriating many gamers. Many people thought they were hacked during this time, considering that this occurred just a few weeks after the ALGS incident.

However, Respawn clarified that the problem arose from a data outage after the April Fools update. After the recent patch, several players saw their accounts reset as if they were new, while some lost all their battle pass progress. It’s unclear what exactly caused the issue, as Respawn never clarified why it happened in the first place, but fans were furious nonetheless.

After a quick patch following April 2, Respawn said it was safe to log in again, as any player who logged in after that day should be secure. However, hundreds of gamers still lost their progress and are still waiting for account data recovery. While Respawn worked on these issues, the studio gave away eight Apex packs as compensation, which is already a lot.

Unfortunately, these free packs might not be enough since many players still wait for their accounts to be recovered. Respawn reaffirmed that they are still working on the issues and encouraged those affected to send a ticket to their technical helpdesk to expedite the process. In the meantime, those who weren’t affected from the beginning should be safe after the latest hotfixes.

How Long Will the Free Apex Packs Last

Players can get the eight free Apex Packs until April 24; they must log in to redeem them. However, you might miss out on the freebies if you don’t open the game before that day. The process takes only a moment, so gamers shouldn’t worry about doing anything complicated.

Good Patches, But Trust is Failing

Recent changes to the game have improved Apex’s standing in the community, as many saw the recent Legend Upgrade system and EVO shields rehaul as a massive win. While the gameplay has improved significantly, the recent issues have caused many to have massive concerns. With severe problems like hacking and data outages, it wouldn’t be a surprise if many fans started quitting the game altogether.

Many Redditors have already expressed their dismay over the game due to experiencing issues one after the other. Cheating and hacking have always been significant and persistent problems in the Apex community, as many continue to face hackers and exploiters in their pubs. Unfortunately, Respawn can’t find a definitive way to significantly curb rampant cheating. Paired with other issues like audio bugs and data outages, the studio has much to do to reestablish its trust with its community.
