The bot lane role in League of Legends (LoL) holds immense significance, with ADCs (Attack Damage Carries) being the primary source of late-game damage. Within Patch 13.10, several ADC champions notably shine above their counterparts. Let’s delve into the rankings and explore the unique qualities of these ADC powerhouses.

Jinx (The Loose Cannon)

Jinx, revered as one of the game’s most renowned ADCs, captures the players’ hearts for valid reasons. Her exceptional damage output, long-range attacks, and game-changing global ultimate contribute to her popularity. Moreover, Jinx’s straightforward mechanics make her an ideal choice for novice players seeking a solid and accessible champion. Here are some tips for playing Jinx:

  • Manage Your Mana – Jinx’s kit is mana-consuming, which might prove fatal if you randomly spam your abilities. Be mindful of how you use your Fishbone basic attacks because you might need the extra MP to use Zap! And Chompers! to get away from duels.
  • Know When to Switch Weapons – A considerable part of Jinx’s kit is knowing when to use the minigun and when to bring out the rocket launcher. Ideally, it would help if you used Pow Pow when enemies are near or to whittle down their HP. Fishbone should mainly be used when hostile champions are running and are out-of-range or if you are trying to damage multiple foes simultaneously.
  • Trigger Your Passive – Jinx gains extra attack and movement speed every time she takes down an enemy champion, epic monster, or turret. Prioritize taking down the foe or objective that has the lowest HP so that you will trigger the passive during fights.

Aphelios (The Weapon of Faithful)

Aphelios stands as an extraordinarily distinctive ADC. Armed with five different weapons, each possessing unique abilities, he uses a wide array of capabilities that can help him adapt to any situation. Learning Aphelios requires substantial dedication, rendering him a challenging option for newcomers. However, mastering him will allow players to become a force reckoned with in the bot lane. Here are some tips for playing Aphelios:

  • Know the Right Combinations – Aphelios has five guns he can use, which are in a pre-determined order. These firearms can be brought out by exhausting the ammunition of the currently used ones. Knowing which guns pair well will allow players to be more lethal and effective, so plan out which weapons should be active simultaneously.
  • Be Mindful of the Current Active Guns – Not all of Aphelios’ guns are made to deal damage quickly. Some of them are used for crowd control and farming. Be mindful of what aspect each weapon excels at, so you can use them efficiently.

Ezreal (The Prodigal Explorer)

Ezreal’s exceptional mobility defines his prowess as an ADC. Equipped with a blink ability, he effortlessly evades perilous situations or hunts down fleeing foes. His extended attack range also ensures a safe and reliable pick in most scenarios. Ezreal has many annoying skill shots that allow him to take down enemies from afar. His abilities will take some take time to master to be accurate. In addition, he can be quickly taken down if he is caught after he uses his blink. Here are some tips to excel at using the Prodigal Explorer:

  • Maintain your Distance – Ezreal threatens any champion because he can whittle their HP from afar. However, he is very vulnerable up close, so enemies will try to get as close as possible. Keep your distance, especially during team fights, because the other team will focus you down.
  • Focus on Scaling – With Ezreal’s kit, you might be tempted to keep harassing the bot lane and use the majority of your skills for whittling them down. However, your primary focus should be farming the minions if you are not getting any kills. Though Ezreal is a potent ADC, he tends to fall off if he does not scale early and has difficulty catching up if he falls behind. The safest way to ensure that you can stabilize your build is to farm.
  • Use Your Blink Carefully – Ezreal’s blink skill helps chase down enemies or escape them. While you might be tempted to move to a spot to free-hit foes, you should think twice about whether or not using this ability will put you in danger. Enemies will try to jump on Ezreal as soon as they know his Blink is on cooldown. Assess when to use this ability to ensure your survival.

Miss Fortune (The Bounty Hunter)

Miss Fortune reigns supreme as a dominant force during the game’s early stages. Her excellent damage output and crowd control ability facilitating deadly setups for her team solidify her presence. Her kit allows her to farm safely while also damaging enemies. While she tends to fall off if a match goes on for too long, her Ultimate still makes her a threat in any situation. Here are some tips for mastering Miss Fortune:

  • Positioning is Everything – While all ADCs need proper positioning, Miss Fortune relies on this aspect the most because it is the key to making her kit work efficiently. Her Double Up requires you to adjust to a proper angle to hit enemies hiding behind minions. In addition, you have to be in a safe and secure spot when using MF’s Ultimate because she is very vulnerable during this sequence.

Jhin (The Virtuoso)

Jhin’s distinctive gameplay mechanics revolve around a deliberately slow attack speed, offset by the tremendous impact of his shots. His empowered attacks and long-range make him an ADC to be feared. Furthermore, his crowd-control abilities enhance his team-fighting capabilities, cementing his status as an excellent choice for coordinated engagements. Here are some tips to get better with Jhin:

  • Use your Empowered Attack Effectively – Jhin’s primary attack is empowered whenever he reaches his last bullet. Use this ammo on high-priority targets such as champions, turrets, or wagon minions to maximize its use.
  • Make Every Shot Count – Unlike most ADCs, Jhin has limited shots per sequence. He can only make four attacks before needing a reload, so ensuring his bullets and skills connect to a high-priority threat is very important. Avoid changing targets as much as possible.

Kai’Sa (Daughter of the Void)

Kai’Sa’s unparalleled versatility allows her to adapt to diverse situations. Her impressive damage output and substantial attack range solidify her efficacy across various scenarios. Kai’Sa is exceptionally mobile and is very flexible with her build since she can be a practical carry whether she is AP or AD. Here are some tips for using Kai’Sa:

  • Adjust Your Build – While having a pre-planned build for Kai’Sa is nice, you should note whether your setup will be effective against the enemy team. She is flexible enough to adjust to AP, and AD builds. Adapting to the game’s conditions is an excellent way to maintain relevancy all-throughout.
  • Focus on Farming – Kai’sa tends to be weak early because her power scaling without items is very small. Focus on getting CS instead of actively engaging in fights. Only enter skirmishes if there is an opportunity to take down enemies for gold. Otherwise, focus on farming so that you can get core items quickly.

Tristana (The Yordle Gunner)

Tristana emerges as an explosive force in the late game, wielding immense damage potential. Her jump ability facilitates escape from danger or pursues retreating enemies. Furthermore, her straightforward mechanics make her an attractive option for newcomers to the role. She can quickly burst down enemies with her kit and create explosive damage. Here are some tips for using Tristana:

  • Focus on Triggering the Explosive Charges – The bread and butter of Tristana is her Explosive Charge, which can quickly take out most enemies while also dealing splash damage. Your main priority is immediately triggering the explosion by combining your basic attacks and abilities.
  • Be Bold with Your Rocket Jump – As an ADC, jumping into the enemy’s face might look like a bad idea, but it is something that you should consider when using Tristana. Rocket Jump can increase the stack of Explosive Charge for an early detonation or to chase down fleeing low HP enemies. The thing about this skill is that it resets the cooldown every time you get a takedown, which allows you to leap out of action after getting a kill.

Draven – The Aggressive Showman

Draven embodies an aggressive playstyle with immense damage output and a unique passive ability, enabling him to gather axes for additional damage. His exceptional mobility further enhances his elusiveness, making him a formidable target. However, his intricacies demand seasoned skills, discouraging novice players. Here are some tips to get better with Draven:

  • Manipulate the Axe Landing Spot – Despite what many players believe, there is a way to manipulate how Draven’s axe will bounce back. If he is stationary, it will go directly back at him or one step to the right or left. If he is moving, the axe will bounce in his path line. Knowing how to influence the placement of where his weapon is going will help players consistently catch it and gain the benefits of his bonus.
  • Stick With Your Team – Despite mobility skills, Draven can be quickly taken down with just one misstep, especially since you must keep catching your axe. Playing behind your more durable allies gives you more room to maneuver and a free hit.

Lucian (The Purifier)

Lucian’s unparalleled mobility, empowered by his dash ability, assigns him to escape danger or relentlessly pursue foes. Coupled with his substantial damage output, he remains a solid pick across diverse situations. Lucian can dominate the game from early to mid-stage but tends to fall off at the end, so you must end matches quickly when using him. Here are some tips for playing Lucian:

  • Ability > Auto-Attack > Ability, Rinse, and Repeat – Lucian’s bread and butter is his Lightslinger passive. After using an ability, his next basic attack will fire an extra shot, which you should take advantage of because it does not stack. Practice firing an AA after every skill to maximize your damage output.
  • Farm Even if You Snowball – Lucian has a high chance of snowballing early in the game, especially if he got fed in his lane. However, you must ensure he keeps getting CS to maintain his lead over the opposing ADC. Focusing purely on team fights and hunting enemies will slow down your gold generation. Lucian tends to fall off late in the game, so it is vital to maintain a lead for as long as possible.

Vayne (The Night Hunter)

Vayne’s true potential blossoms during the late game, where her immense damage becomes a nightmare for enemy teams. Her stealth ability grants her an unparalleled escape mechanism and enables her to chase down targets relentlessly. Vayne’s slipperiness makes her an incredibly challenging champion to catch and neutralize. Here is how you can excel with this champion:

  • Stacking or Repositioning – Most of Vayne’s damage comes from her Silver Bolt ability, which applies True Damage to every third basic attack. However, this stack resets every time you change targets. Consider focusing on one enemy to trigger the effect of Silver Bolt. However, do not over-commit if beaming down your current target is no longer safe. Even if you lose the Silver Bolt stack, repositioning or changing targets that are safer to hit is more advisable to ensure your survival.
  • Trigger the Cooldown of Tumble Right Away – Be mindful that Tumble will only go into cooldown once you have used the empowered basic attack after executing the ability. This means that your primary source of mobility won’t be usable again until you fire a shot. When closing a gap or running away from enemies, use the empowered attack immediately to activate the skill’s CD. Doing so will allow you to use Tumble again in quick succession.

Choose Depending on your Style

If you don’t like the ones listed in this article, then there are tons of other ADCs in League of Legends that you probably might enjoy. Just because they are not listed here does not mean they are weak or unenjoyable. Any champion can be used to gain tons of victories as long as you know how to play them properly.
