What Is the Escape From Tarkov 2020 Interchange Map?

The Interchange Map is a three-level story mall. There are three main stores to look out for (Goshan, OLI, and IDEA) as well as a go-kart track on the outside, an outside area (duh), and an underground parking garage. There are various important hot spots to know on here, but for now, let’s keep it simple: there are locations for safes, registers, crates, weapons, keys, spawn points, exit points, and so forth, and the better you know these points, the better off you will be. If you’re a beginner, looking at the map can be jarring, because there’s a lot of stuff on there and you might not know what in the world you’re looking at. Don’t fret. Once you get your feet wet and get a basic understanding, you should be just fine!

What Are the Three Levels on the Interchange Map?

There are three levels with three main stores. I’ll go over each briefly.

First, we have the Garage Entrance. What’s there to know about the Garage Entrance? Two things—it’s pretty dark, and you can get lost easily. Let’s keep it real basic here—if you want to successfully get through this, you need to keep heading towards the light. Just keep heading towards that light. A lot of the rest is practice, and you’ll get to the point where you can basically guess where you are on the map based on a few surrounding objects, but yeah. Just follow the light. The light is your friend.

The Second Floor is, my opinion, the coolest one. It’s distinguishable by four landmarks- IDEA, OLI, Goshan, and the Common Area. I’ll go over each. We’re going to start with IDEA, which is on the north end of the mall and can be recognized through its closed off shelving and blue walls. Goshen is the east part, and can be recognized because it features a big ole’ long loading dock. If that’s not enough, it also has red walls. Oh, and it has a random fire that’s always burning. Finally, OLI. How can you distinguish OLI? OLI’s the south end, but it’s also the easiest to identify, because it has green walls and, if that wasn’t enough of a hint, it says “OLI” everywhere. I may be disappointed in you if you can’t figure out that you are in OLI. Finally, the Common Area! The Common Area is the west part, and it’s distinguishable by having store fronts and better lightning overall. The Common Area is easier to get lost in despite this light making it easier to see, as it’s a pretty big area with a lot to remember, but once you get ahold of it, it’s easy.

The third floor, unthrillingly, is another level of the Common Area.  Not much else to say about this, but if you aren’t sure which floor you’re on, just look for stairs and escalators to give you a better idea.

Where Are the Exit Points on the Interchange Map?

The Interchange Map has three exits: The Railway exit, Emercom Checkpoint, and The Car Exit. All are pretty good ones to use. They are located on opposite parts of the Interchange Map, but if you get lost, just pick an exterior wall and follow it and sooner or later, you’ll get to one of the exits. Now, don’t forget! The Car Exit can only be used by one person per raid, so if you intend to use it, make sure someone else hasn’t beaten you to it.

Conclusion

Well, gang, that should hopefully shine a bit of light on the Escape from Tarkov 2020 Interchange Map. We went over a few crucial things that you need to know during this guide to the map. Did we go over everything? Absolutely not, because this is a short bit, a summary, a brief list of the high points. So, how do you get to know where everything is in better detail? We all know that as with every map in every game, some things are just better than others, but it various by your play style and strategy. In the end, I could write an entire book up here and you could look up a hundred videos describing every nook and cranny, but you’re not going to really get that in -depth knowledge until you experience it yourself. Try it out! There’s a lot to know, but as you practice, you’ll get better at knowing what works for you the best.
