Viktor’s Early Life

A child born in Zaun, Viktor was a child who discovered his passion for building and creating inventions in League of Legends. He dedicated his life to studying in understanding machines. Still, his drive to work was too intense for any interruption, such as eating or sleeping, making it impossible for him to stop under any circumstances. This Viktor League of Legends lore article will go over all the pertinent information a player needs to know.

Having looked over the community in Zaun, Viktor investigated the many accidents that happened over Zaun and discovered that the real cause was not a mechanical failure but a human error. With this knowledge, he made it his mission to make inventions to benefit local businesses; unfortunately, none of them wanted to work with Viktor except one company, the Fredersen Chem-forge.

As he built a name for himself, at the age of nineteen, he was offered to be invited to the Zaun’s Academy of Techmaturgy, a prestigious University that focuses on the study of technology. His work became the talk among professors and mainly attracted the eye of Professor Stanwick of Piltover. Professor Stanwick of Piltover tried to convince him to transfer over to the Piltover Academy instead of working using the most advanced laboratories while having all the resources the City of Progress offers. When Viktor accepted the professor’s offer, he moved and found his home at Piltover to master his skills and harness more knowledge that Zaun’s Academy of Techmaturgy could not provide. His newfound goal should not only strive to benefit Zaun but to help everyone.

Education

During his time in Piltover, he worked harder than ever. One of them is working hand-in-hand with the best and brightest the city offers, Jayce. Viktor and Jayce developed a partnership and frequently worked together. He describes Jayce as someone who is flamboyant and arrogant but a genius at heart. Viktor highly respected and considered themselves as intellectual equals with personalities that often clashed—frequently arguing about their perceptions and logic when creating an invention. These two may have worked together, but this did not develop their relationship to form a friendship. They only recognize the brilliance of one another.

While studying at Piltover Academy, he received news of a significant chemical spill spreading throughout Zaun’s districts. The distressing news worried Viktor, who immediately returned to help the people and the home where he grew up. To help the people of Zaun, he built a sophisticated and sentient machine golem. Viktor named this machine Blitzcrank an unintentional but brilliant invention; together, they tried to save many people as possible from the chemical spill that plagued Zaun. In the aftermath of the incident, the two ended up parting ways as they both were unsuccessful in their attempt; with his head down, Viktor returned to Piltover, ashamed of his failure due to the loss of life. He changed his mission with the horror he experienced and the trauma he could not accomplish. To fuse technology and human anatomy for the next step, calling it “human evolution.”

As Blitzcrank wandered alone as Viktor no longer wanted any connection with the mechanical golem, Professor Stanwick found him and claimed Blitzcrank as his creation. Despite leaving the robot, Viktor still wanted the credit for his invention, pleading with the higher-ups of the academy and even asking Jayce to verify his claims, but none were convinced. Returning to his work, he realized once more that improving people’s lives is more important than petty credit and satisfying his ego.

His obsession with fixing human flaws consumed his interest in “improving humans,” and the tension between him and his fellow students and professors began to brew. Removing human ingenuity and creativity was a thought that they did not take lightly.

Mechanization

Viktor could no longer stand the narrow-minded attitudes the Piltover Academy had shown him, deciding to leave his home and return to Zaun, where he retreated to his old laboratory. His failures took over his mind and have been taken over with depression. With anger and emotions getting in his way, he could not let them blind him, giving up his naive belief that good intentions could help the people around him. He operated on his own body, removing parts of his flesh and psyche that had any connection to his emotions.

Once he was done with his surgery, nothing was left of the bright young man. The good intentions and emotions Viktor used to have once in his body were replaced with delusions of inventing augmentations. All that remained was a shell of a man filled and covered with mechanical improvements, going to lengths to modify his personality. Viktor calls this new body the Glorious Evolution. He considers himself the pioneer of Valoran’s future, a dream to renounce flash for hex-tech augmentations and free humanity from their errors and suffering: a task that could not be easily nor quickly completed. Viktor’s new ideals confirm that he is no longer human.

Shuriman Crystal

Another disaster soon destroyed Zaun; chemical spills in the Sump infected hundreds of people in the Factorywood into rabid psychotics. To study and save the people he cares about, he took victims back to his laboratory and attempted to revert and cure the infected. Lacking the energy source to power an invention in his lab, he sought out the Shuriman Crystal, a power source he believed could solve the issue he was facing. The only problem was, Shuriman Crystals could be found at Jayce’s lab.

The two could no longer see eye to eye, which would be challenging to get into with a simple “please.” Viktor had to take it by force, and Jayce disapproved of that; the Piltovan and Viktor clashed and concluded the battle with Viktor taking the Shuriman Crystal.

Retreating to his lab, Viktor took the opportunity to power up the latest automation bodies for the infected victims of Zaun in case the experiment proved to be another failure. As he was about to power up his creations, Jayce blasted his way into the lab and destroyed everything Viktor had worked for with an energized hammer powered with the same crystal. Knowing that Jayce’s arrogance would lead him not to listen to Viktor, the automatons were ordered to kill Jayce to prevent further damage in his laboratory. Although this was another failure, Jayce was victorious in this battle and destroyed the Shuriman crystal with a slam of his hammer. The entire laboratory was obliterated, and the people Viktor tried to help were killed.

Fallout

Close to death, Viktor survived the explosion; Jayce’s attack proved his delusions about bettering humanity and removing emotional impulses. His desires and ideals strengthened. Not giving up, Viktor sends more automatons to Jayce’s lab, not to get revenge but to collect more crystals from unburdening humanity of the failings of flash. It was an unsuccessful raid. Instead, Viktor found other means to help develop and improve his plan to bring the Glorious Evolution to the people.
