Old School Runescape is adding another league to the popular MMO, which is set to take place from October 28th 2020 and run until January 6th 2021. Having been in development since June this year, players are set to take part in another league just before Halloween. We’re looking into what OSRS Trailblazer League rewards there are to be earned earned, all the way through to early next year.

In this article, we will discuss the following:

  • What is the Trailblazer League?
  • Why should you do it?
  • What are the rewards?

Before looking into what rewards you will receive, you will more than likely want to know what the league actually entails.

What is the OSRS Trailblazer League?

You will start off in Misthalin, where you will unlock regional areas from finishing a set amount of tasks. There is an area, Karamja, that you can unlock without having to complete other tasks. Only three areas can be accessed in the game, ranging from Fremennik Isles, Wilderness, Kharidian Desert, Kandarin, Tirannwn, Asgarnia, and Morytania. This means you won’t be able to gain access to the whole map, so be careful which you choose.

Each player will be an Ironman/Ironwoman, complete with the same restrictions as they normally would have in Ironman Mode, so trading is out of the window. You will find that there’s shops that have more stock, and will have higher restock rates too. You may also find that there are some changes to boss mechanics to cater for group bossing.

Trailblazer League Tasks

The tasks that you take part in will earn you league points, as well as unlock relics that will give you buffs. The tasks range in difficulty from Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite and Master. The league will offer many tasks for you to overcome, some of which involve raising skill levels, to beating bosses.

The tasks that you get will also be dividing into specific areas. You will need to perform special actions to complete a number of tasks as well, with over 960 available for the Trailblazer League. You are looking at a huge variety of tasks, such as crafting Water Runes, to cooking sharks, equipping certain weapons, and specific area tasks such as defeating Obor or entering the Cooking Guild.

Unlocking Relics

Once you have gathered enough League Points, you will be able to unlock Relics, which provide you with powerful buffs. These range from giving increased combat power, luck, additional XP boosts, and even skilling buffs. After finishing the Leagues Tutorial, players can choose from three Relics, with a total of six tiers of Relics. Each tier represents a different feature of OSRS, from skilling, to combat, utility and teleportation.

Why Should you Do the OSRS Trailblazer League, Besides Rewards?

Besides the rewards that it offers, which we will be discussing shortly, there are a bunch of new features to look forward to in this league. For example, there is now a new Areas Interface, which give you details about the areas that you have unlocked. You can see which places are unlocked when you select a region, as well as key features, and the achievement diaries and quests that are available to you in that particular area.

There is now a separate task completion system in place which adds balance to gameplay when you are working towards tasks of high value, as well as completing low level tasks. A new safe PvP system is also coming to the wilderness, which lets you fight other players to gain access to certain areas, though you don’t lose or gain any player items.

OSRS Trailblazer League Rewards

Players will have the opportunity to unlock a lot of rewards that you can use within the main game itself in the OSRS Trailblazer League. There are a number of rewards to unlock that are colour coded from Beige, Brown and Blue. The first two colours are chosen as the league colours to represent dust and sand of a new area. Blue meanwhile is said to represent the skies that you see on your travels.

Once you reach the end of the league, you will have the chance to earn a cosmetic trophy that you can wield, with the trophy depending on the tier that you are in. They won’t affect the league points you have collected, either. For Bronze to Mithril trophies you will find there are shield slot items. For Adamant to Dragon trophies you can get two-handed items. Each trophy has its own emote, which can be used from right-clicking on the trophy itself.

Then there’s polled rewards, such as the Trailblazer Graceful Set Ornament Kit. This costs you a lot of league points, and includes six recolor kits. Then you have the Trailblazer Relic Hunter Outfit which has a much more varied cost for league points. There’s a Trailblazer Rug which is another possible and expensive reward to be placed in your owned House League Room.

The Dragon Skilling Tools Ornament Kit can be used on a dragon axe, dragon pickaxe and dragon harpoon to be recolored. There are potential plans from the developers to potentially recolor them as infernal items. Other potential rewards include a Globe Statue for your Player Owned House, plus a Themed Banner, a Home Teleport Animation, and perhaps most exciting of all, a Player Owned House League Room. The League Room isn’t necessarily a reward, and it does need 27 construction and costs 15,000gp.

Conclusion

So as you can see the OSRS Trailblazer League Rewards make the league worth your while. Since the event is about to start, and you have until January to take part, then you do have a decent amount of time to enjoy it. However, there are an awful lot of tasks for you to get through, some much easier than others. Whatever it is that you decide to do when playing the second Trailblazer League, you are bound to find something within that makes it worth your time. It will show the fruits of Jagex’s labour since earlier this year, and we don’t have much longer to wait to delve into the league ourselves.
